Recycled cardboard construction. Slot constructed using a ruler and a pair of scissors. 13' x 8' x 8'. 2001
Detail. All cardboard was used as is; existing lettering, dirt, packing tape. This piece was all about counter-balance, with all eight risers being constructed one level at a time from the bottom up. Varying the depth of the slots allowed for the curvature in each riser. The base is solely constructed of cardboard and was designed to carry and stabilize the heavy load.
Recycled cardboard construction. Collected soft drink flats and clay boxes for a year, breaking them down by their existing panels. 6' x 4' x 17'. 2001.
Recycled cardboard construction. Soft drink flats make up the majority of this modular free-standing piece. Although it stands 13' high and 17' wide, notice that it all rests on just three edges. This piece was designed to easily break down, and reassemble. 2001
Recycled cardboard construction. Slot constructed using a ruler and a pair of scissors. 12' x 2' x 2'. 2001
Recycled cardboard construction. After cutting out and using all of the centers of the soft drink flats, I had all of these right angle edge pieces leftover. Here, they were used to create a suspended helix form 12' in length. 2001
